Ladybirds Christmas Celebration

Join us on Saturday 11 December from 2pm till 5pm in the crypt of All Saints Church, via Babuino for our annual Ladybirds Christmas Party with carols, crafts and the ever popular Father Christmas.


Please bring with you a contribution of festive food, savoury or sweet and  2 wrapped presents as follows

1.     a present for your child with his or her name on it.  Santa will be giving presents to all children at the party at around 3.30pm.

2.     a second wrapped present for those unfortunate kids who might not otherwise receive any presents at this time of year.
Please put a label on the second gift indicating whether it’s for a boy or a girl and the age of the child.

Older brothers and sisters and grand parents are all very welcome

Ladybirds Trastevere Cancelled Monday 29 November

Sorry people, we have had to cancel the Trastevere group on Monday 29 November because there is no-one to run it.
Apologies too for the late notice.
But we hope to see you all at the Ladybirds Christmas Party on Saturday, 11th December.  More about that coming very soon.

Christmas Bazaar, Thurs 2nd December

Looking for Christmas presents?
Why not come to the fabulous Villa Wolkonsky and enjoy the Christmas Bazaar next Thursday, 2nd December. 
Open from 11am to 4pm.  There are loads of great stalls, a raffel and fabulous prizes.
Proceeds go to Peter Pan Onlus and other charities.

Sorry people
A pipe has burst, there is no running water and the plumbers are working to fix it.
So I'm afraid we have to cancel Ladybirds tomorrow, 19th November.

Halloween Party Pictures

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came to celebrate Halloween with us last Friday. 
The kids loved it and by the looks of things the grown ups weren't having a bad time either. 
Also special thanks to those of you who brought the amazing cakes, biscuits, tarts, cupcakes etc.  Deeeelicious.  And the rest of you who helped  with the decorations, face painting, songs and games.

Usborne is coming to Ladybirds Wed 3rd Nov!

We all know how complicated it is going shopping with children, and finding good English childrens books in Rome is a hard task in itself.
On Wednesday, 3rd November, I am bringing a sample of Usborne books and catalogues to the playgroup, and if my kids' reaction to them were anything to go by,  there will be a lot of excited kids next Wednesday!
It's a great opportunity to order a shelf load of new books for Christmas presents, or just because the old ones are getting a little tired.
If you've never heard of Usborne before, check out their website www.usborne.com. 
Their books were classics even when we were little and there are illustrated encyclopedias and dictionaries etc. that help make learning vocabulary a pleasure.   They are educational and fun!  Even for non English speakers.
