Easter egg Hunt 15th April

The Easter Picnic will be this Friday, April 15th, from 10am.  The venue is on the Pincio in Villa Borghese, between the puppet theatre and the Cafe L'orilogico.  The Pincio if you do not know, is the area above Piazza Popolo. 

We will make Easter Baskets and Bonnets (hopefully) and then will have an easter egg hunt.  If your children are allergic to chocolate, please bring an alternative for them to hunt for.  We ask the EVERYONE bring something to share for morning tea that is either sweet or savory and preferably, not a packet of biscuits.  It is a feastive occassion so please make a special effort.  May you also bring a picnic blanket.  We will provide the drinks of tea, coffee, juice and water.

Friday April 15th Ladybirds Easter Picnic!

It is perfect spring weather for our Easter Picnic in Villa Borghese this Friday from 10am.  

We meet on the Pincio above Piazza Popolo under the trees near the Cafe' L'Orologio.  

Please bring a picnic rug and something yummy to add to our picnic brunch.  

We will be making Easter baskets for a special treasure hunt!

Girls coffee morning & bring any old womens clothes,
hand bags, shoes, accessories to sell!

Need to know list of names at least a few days in advance to leave at Embassy entrance.

This Sunday 3rd is Mother's Day in the UK.
So the All Saints church has an all age service at 10.30 .

With refreshments afterwards and little posies of flowers for the kids to give to their mums (or dads!)

Japan Tsunami & Earthquake

We have all been horrified by the images coming out of Japan and we'd like to do our bit to help.  So tomorrow Wednesday 16th March  Its, mother of Ayumi is bringing some simple rice balls which the people at the are evacuation camps are being supplied and would like to do a bit of fund raising to help.
I have heard from friends in Japan how people are paying for food and water in supermarkets even if there are no shopkeepers around to take payment. That, for me, shows the level of dignity, respect and selflessness of the Japanese people. As soon as the waters receded, people (police, rescue teams and even the general public) were immediately mucking in there, searching for survivors, with almost no regards for their personal safety. It warms my heart to know there are such people on this planet. Having been to Japan myself, I know full well that they will recover as quickly, if not quicker, than anybody else would in such a situation. They are polite, hard-working, industrious citizens, humble enough to appreciate what they have in life, and always willing to help their fellow man.  It's our turn now to help them.
